Our Staff All of GraceWay’s staff have been personally affected by the disease of alcoholism or substance abuse/addiction. They constantly strive to be conscientious, living witnesses to the spiritual principles underlying the Twelve Step approach. Within the framework of these values, they commit themselves to a working knowledge of each resident’s behavior. Individual’s issues are addressed promptly, and the spiritual principle gauges of employing rigorous honesty, purity, love and unselfishness to all life’s choices are communicated, taught and applied when counseling the residents. Our knowledgeable and grateful staff is eager to share their experience, strength and hope. GraceWay is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year. “Just tell Him in your own words that you have made a mess of your life, and ask Him if He won’t take over from here.” We borrow the above quote from Sister Mary Ignatia, an early AA pioneer and humble woman whom the AA community knows as the “Angel of Mercy”. Sister Ignatia had an unshakable belief that the spiritual component of the AA program could disrupt even the most stubborn alcoholic’s addiction. We employ her words when we initiate our first conversations between new residents of GraceWay and our tough-minded and tender-hearted recovery staff. It is simple, direct and a loving response to suffering women … resulting in personalized prayers of surrender, repentance and hope for a new way of life. The spirituality of the principles underlying our program becomes a resolution for living. Miracles of restoration are happening at 412 West Tift Avenue. |
