Dear Family Member, Welcome to the GraceWay family. Your loved one is in a safe place. She is about to begin a recovery journey unlike any other. Her journey will consist of Acceptance/Surrender, Change and Growth. During this time, she will require persistence and prayer. She will acquire recovery and spiritual growth. Nothing is impossible with God. Your decision to help her seek “treatment” here is not taken lightly. Addiction is a family disease. You are an integral part of her individualized recovery plan. We know you are tired. We hear and understand your pain, anger, and disappointment associated with your loved one’s past addictive behaviors. We also know from experience that the women who experience the fullness of healing in our program and who remain sober and actually become productive members of their families and society again share a common trait. They have family members who commit to “getting well”, too. The reality of recovery is that . . . if you are not part of your loved one’s solution then you are part of the problem. We live in the solution at GraceWay and encourage you to do the same. You trust us with your loved one. Now you need to trust us with your healing. Experience proves that everyone will benefit from this cohesive recovery plan. Therefore, we require that you and every family member associated with your loved one agree to and actually attend SIX Al-Anon meetings before the first family visitation will occur. These visits must be documented. We have a list of meetings and times for your area. Do not underestimate the power of recovery that these group sessions can offer you. The Al-Anon program is all about you and your choices. It is not about focusing on the alcoholic/addict in your life. The combined and shared wisdom, strength and experience of those in attendance will amaze you and will offer you sanity, hope and a “new way” of life. We also encourage you to read all the conference approved Al-Anon literature you can get your hands on. . . . Visit the Al-Anon website . . . Find an Al-Anon sponsor . . . Something miraculous happens over time and we want you to be part of this miraculous process. |

So now is the time to commit to supporting her recovery, financially, prayerfully and by physically attending the Al-Anon meetings for yourself and by actively working your own program of recovery. We will be here to support you and your loved one. You do your part. Let the healing begin. Let go and let God. We expect each of you to attend SIX Al-Anon meetings before you will be allowed a supervised visit with your loved one at GraceWay. We expect that you will notify other family members of this condition for visitation and assist GraceWay in ensuring 100% compliance with this policy. You will become part of the solution. First Things First . . . We will contact you with dates of our next Family Workshop. God bless your Grace in Action! |
